Hungarian is a language geographically surrounded by Slavic languages, just like an island, having the closest related language in Finnish all the way north. Due to their large population, there are Hungarians in parts of Serbia and Romania who widely use the language. Thus its importance is evident not only in Hungary but outside it as well.
